past work
This bespoke compass pendant was commissioned by Aaron as a meaningful gift for a friend enlisting in the Navy. A friend with a deep love for nautical life and the African savannah. He wanted a personalised working compass, handcrafted with symbolic detail and gemstone significance.
A Compass of Adventure and Belonging
Aaron envisioned a design that united the sea and the land – nautical navigation and African horizons. The twisted rope border recalls ocean voyages. The Tsavorite garnet, set like the rising sun, evokes Kenya’s green plains and the warmth of the East African dawn. Together, these motifs form a compass pendant that celebrates guidance, courage, and connection to place.
Meaningful Compass Pendant for Daily Wear
Every element, from the textured savannah and acacia trees to the radiating sun rays, was hand-sawn and detailed in silver and gold. Designed to be worn daily, this wearable compass unites personal symbolism and enduring craftsmanship. Inside lies a Francis Barker compass, modified for safe wear in water.
