past work
Silver and gold move around the compass in a continuous pattern of flowing waves. Each curve was shaped by hand, forming a path that feels calm, rhythmic, and intentional. The surface invites touch, while the working compass sits within – a piece made to accompany everyday life and settle naturally into it.
Flowing wave symbolism in a compass pendant
This design grew from a love of movement and continuity. The swirling tendrils create a unique pattern around the compass, suggesting a path that unfolds through curves rather than straight lines. It speaks to a way of finding direction that is lived and felt over time. The compass is set inside the pendant, ready to be turned to when needed, and carried close the rest of the time.
Handcrafted compass jewellery in silver and gold
The pendant was entirely handmade, with each tendril carefully arranged and shaped by hand. Tips were filed to a pleasing taper, giving the piece a tactile quality. Silver forms the body, with subtle gold details adding warmth and depth. The working Francis Barker compass is uniquely customised to be waterproof, a rare feature that means it can be worn every day without worry.
A deeply personal compass gift
This piece was created as a special commission, bringing together elements from earlier designs into something wholly personal. The flowing form gives the wearer a sense of ownership and connection – something familiar, comforting, and uniquely hers. It was made to offer continuity, reassurance, and a steady sense of direction as life unfolds.
