past work
A single line curves and flows like music in motion, holding a compass at its heart. Sterling silver traces the shape of a treble clef, while labradorite glows with shifting blues and greens – a quiet reminder that direction in life is not always straight, but deeply personal. Created as a wearable compass for an eighteenth birthday, this piece honours the moment when instinct, creativity, and courage begin to lead the way.
Compass Symbolism Inspired by Music and New Beginnings
This compass pendant was commissioned as an eighteenth birthday gift – a moment rich with possibility, uncertainty, and becoming. Her parents wanted a symbol of direction in life, paired with a clear reference to music, an essential part of their daughter’s world. Shaped unmistakably as a treble clef, the design allows music and compass symbolism to merge into a single form. A lovely way to suggest listening inwardly, trusting rhythm and intuition, and finding one’s own way forward.
Handcrafted Compass Jewellery in Sterling Silver
The pendant was handcrafted in sterling silver, with the flowing line of the treble clef formed by hand to maintain softness and balance. At its heart sits a waterproof working compass, which you can see when the pendant is turned over. A luminous labradorite was chosen for its depth and movement. One of my favourite gemstones.
A Meaningful Compass Gift for a Young Musician
This piece was made for a young woman stepping into adulthood – a gift from parents who wanted something lasting, symbolic, and deeply personal. The compass represents guidance and independence; the treble clef speaks of creativity, expression, and connection. Together, they form a talisman of adventure, confidence, and inner direction – a reminder that even when the path feels uncertain, there is music, meaning, and resilience to return to.
