Symbolic Compasses with Meaning
Ancient Symbolism
The compass is highly symbolic and was used in Ancient Chinese Feng Shui as far back as the Qin Dynasty in 206 BC. The earliest compasses had markings for both the cardinal points and the constellations and represented the perfect circle, symbolic of the heavens, the planetary spheres and the moon.
Different cultures have assigned various meanings to the cardinal points. Chinese Feng Shui, Native American Indian and Celtic Symbolism used them to represent traits such as creativity, communication, wisdom, energy, passion, new beginnings and growth.
Directional Perspective
The compass also represents magnetism, directional perspective and the
spirit – the balance between the spiritual and the physical earth, between our inner and outer selves and what we attract into our lives.
It is the perfect piece of jewellery for anyone looking for a uniquely special and meaningful gift for a loved one or to mark a very special occasion such as a Christening, Graduation, Engagement or Wedding.
I can also design a custom made compass to mark the start of an adventure, to celebrate a change in direction or as a symbolic talisman to carry with you on your journey through life.
Compass jewellery is evocative of independence; since the days of the earliest explorers, the compass has been used to navigate continents and oceans. It is symbolic of adventure and discovery.
It is truly jewellery for your journey.
